As a Risk Adjustment Coding Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in our organization by overseeing the day-to-day operations of our coding team. Your leadership will empower coders to excel in their roles, ensuring the accurate and compliant capture of vital diagnostic data. You will: 

  • Oversees daily operational activities of assigned code team including hiring, training, supervising and mentoring. 
  • Tracks coder KPI and quality metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.  
  • Coaches employees who are not meeting the expectations including performance improvement initiatives as needed 
  • Verify coder schedules and hours worked, approves payroll and time off requests 
  • Answers coding questions for assigned clients; trending the questions to identify opportunities for additional training 
  • Collaborates with Quality Department to ensure 95% accuracy expectation is met 
  • Reviews coder rebuttals, educates coder or escalates as needed 
  • Report trends for education opportunities in both quality and productivity to management for review and/or action 
  • Conduct monthly team meetings and individual one on ones with coders 
  • Provide feedback regarding Annual Performance Reviews on employees   
  • Assists in coding to meet the month production goals while maintain quality at 95% or higher 
  • Administers corrective action for assigned coders 

What you will bring to the table:  

  • AHIMA certified credentials (CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC certified credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC, CRC)   
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD -10 
  • 2 years coding experience 
  • Strong understanding of HCC coding 
  • A strong knowledge base of medical terminology, medical abbreviations, pharmacology and disease processes 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality 
  • Must be able to follow instructions, meet deadlines and work independently 
  • Ability to be flexible in work environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a remote environment and time management skills 
  • Working knowledge of the business use of computer hardware and software to ensure effectiveness and quality of the processing and security of the data 

Bonus points if: 

  • Supervisory experience leading a team of coders
