About the Position:

Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Supervisor to join the resort’s General Ledger team.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Will perform and assist in day-to-day general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
  • Will follow general ledger policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  • Work with the general ledger team and support the team to ensure high and efficient performance.
  • Post journal entries, and before position will check that all accounting entries are properly documented and supported, always maintaining audit-ready records.
  • Perform tasks keeping in mind the timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
  • Will check the accounting data, further assist in the preparation of financial statements, by ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly accrual tracker, required for the month end closing.
  • Prepare balance sheet schedules with complete details and supporting documents, further work on reconciling items, retained all the back-ups and supporting for future references.
  • Prepare the document to resolve audit queries related to general accounts, reporting and fixed assets, ensuring it is completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare fixed asset records. Assist in the fixed assets process—including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, and periodic physical verification.
  • Work closely with the Manager and Asst. Mgr. GL and other department heads to support business objectives.
  • Accept any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Senior Manager and Executives.
  • Possess sound business judgment, flexibility, and people management.
  • Interact with other departments, banks, auditors, and assist in the preparation of various financial reporting packages to the partners and other entities as and when required.
  • Ensure that the subordinates are well-mannered and always groomed as per company standard.
  • Promote a work environment where team members feel valued, appreciated, involved, equally important and safe.
  • Interact with department and company team members, management and contractor representatives in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective two-way and cross-cultural communications. Effective resource management and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also important.



About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting/Commerce, and/or Professional Finance accreditation (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in GL, preferably within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of financial software and systems, proficiency in ERP systems with preference in Oracle financials. including ERP systems. Preferably in 5* luxury hotels. Hands on experience in managing fixed assets, cash flow, preparation of financial statements and conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiations skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Skills Required

  • University degree in Accounting or Commerce
  • Professional finance accreditation (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting
  • Experience within the hospitality industry, preferably 5‑star luxury hotels
  • Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems
  • Experience with Oracle Financials
  • Hands-on experience managing fixed assets (capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, physical verification)
  • Experience preparing financial statements in compliance with IFRS and performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, attention to detail and high accuracy
  • People management and team development experience
