Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Model SEL Values and Leadership characteristics to employees.
2. Provide clear direction to work group in order to help meet department production objectives.
3. Understand upstream and downstream work areas in order to ensure accurate communication and appropriate product flow.
4. Monitor employee performance, regularly provide employee feedback; empower, mentor and coach employees, write and deliver performance reviews, and assist employees in setting goals.
5. Responsible for assessing employee training needs, and providing/overseeing training.
6. Under guidance, actively and effectively address personnel issues and settle differences equitably and productively.
7. Create, update and ensure control of area work instructions and reports.
8. Utilize basic root cause and continuous improvement tools to investigate and address area quality issues.
9. Promote safety standards to others and assist in implementing safety initiatives.
10. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
11. Understand. Create. Simplify.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of leadership experience
Demonstrated ability to model SEL Values to others
Ability to communicate professionally, respectfully and openly to a diverse audience.
Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate work; intervene to remove obstacles as needed.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product flow for up and downstream areas.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and department's business systems (Lotus Notes, Dynamics AX, SQS, etc.)
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
College degree (BS or BA)
Supervisory experience or training
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and department's business systems (Lotus Notes, Dynamics AX, SQS, etc.)
