As the Supervisor, Cost Control, you will lead your team in closely monitoring cost developments and ensuring the accuracy of standard costs used by various departments to effectively steer the business. You will ensure compliance with internal policies and global guidelines while providing meaningful insights into cost performance. You will empower your team to identify and analyze key drivers behind changes in transportation, port, and terminal costs. By translating these insights into actionable recommendations, you will raise awareness across relevant teams and support the development and execution of cost-saving initiatives that improve overall business performance.
ResponsibilitiesFacilitate the review of transport, port, and terminal cost to determine accurate standard costs for pricing (quotations to customers) and steering purposes (evaluation of shipment profitability). Provide guidance to individual team member as needed.
Enable your team to identify and highlight the root causes for changes in cost to Operations and Commercial teams
Coach your team member to become subject matter experts for selected cost categories such as terminal, rail, truck, reefer, storage, supply & demand, and chassis and establish good working relationships with key stakeholders in Operations
Drive automation projects
Provide ad hoc analyses on costs and volume by vendor or cost center
Coordinate and support cost savings initiatives
Oversee execution of maintaining FIS catalogues handled by GCC
Provide primary support to the Senior Manager Cost Control and Director Cost Control with various analyses and ad-hoc reporting
Prepare and present departmental statistics and measurements to management

Education & Experience: University degree with 4+ years of work experience, preferably in the logistics industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
Analytical: Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy, being able to identify discrepancies and to ensure high-quality outputs
Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and demonstrates accountability and ownership. Eager to drive change as a team.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with management, e.g., when explaining changes in cost and their underlying causes.
