Overall Responsibilities:
PCG is seeking a passionate, highly motivated and innovative Family Services Supervisor with an interest in public service who will oversee the CalWORKS Housing Support Program and Family Stabilization Programs in our San Diego office. The Family Services Supervisor will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and motivating Program Assistants and Family Services Employment Training Advisors (ETAs) to ensure they follow procedural requirements of their respective programs while providing ensuring that quality case management services are provided to participants to ensure their barriers to self-sufficiency are identified and addressed.

The Housing Support Program (HSP) utilizes a rapid re-housing model to assist CalWORKs families who are facing homelessness to find and maintain housing. The program will provide participating families with intensive case management, housing identification, and financial assistance. The Family Stabilization (FS) Program assists CalWORKs Employment Services families with qualifying emergencies in order to remove barriers preventing them from participating in their activities.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversee performance of Family Services case managers and a program assistant to ensure participants receive quality and timely housing services.

  • Ensure that program objectives, metrics, and goals are accurately tracked and met each month.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring and leadership to motivate and empower staff.

  • Assist staff in determining eligibility for HSP and FS programs.

  • Communicate effectively with participants, case managers, and County representatives regarding program requirements.

  • Communicate effectively and foster relationships with community partners that benefit program participants.

  • Assist with quality control procedures to ensure operational processes are executed accurately.

  • Validate and complete monthly reports that measure project objectives.

  • Adhere to County Program Guide (CPG) policies and compliance requirements.

  • Resolve conflicts that arise with participants and failure to comply issues.

  • Follow procedural requirement of CalWORKs by updating client case files in CalWIN an CERMs.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CalWORKs procedures and implement appropriately.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources, labor market and training resources.

  • Evaluate and approve payment requests for housing, utility, and vehicle repair assistance.

  • Elevate cases to the County Eligibility Operations when necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Display a professional level of empathy for participants and respect for cultural differences.

  • Ability to lead, inspire and mentor employees while setting clear performance expectations and appropriate workplace behaviors.

  • Ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.

  • Ability to effectively engage with all levels of management and staff.

  • Proper etiquette including customer relation techniques, superior verbal and communications skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and execute defined program goals and objectives to ensure compliance-measured performance.

  • Experience in monitoring, assessing, and reporting on program deliverables.

  • Ability to recognize and maintain the confidentiality of all materials in the work setting.

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with Federal, State and County agencies as well as the general public.

  • Exceptional strength in strategic thinking, development of action plans, and problem solving.

  • Possess high level of self-awareness and ability to accept feedback.

  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in all client and employee interactions within a high-pressure and dynamic work environment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; however, a 2-year degree combined with 2 years of supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree.

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience within a housing, social services or CalWORKs/TANF setting.

  • 3 to 4 years of customer relationship management or case management experience, preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions

  • Must reside in San Diego County

  • This position requires full-time (Mon-Fri) in-office work, from 8am-5pm.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.  As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $64,480 - $74,480. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
