Satair is looking for a Summer Intern - Business Operations to join our Operations team based in Dulles, VA.

You will be part of a team dedicated to optimizing and driving operational excellence. You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment while supporting key initiatives that directly impact efficiency and business growth.

Meet the Team:

Our Operations team in Dulles manages critical logistics, quality and material management functions for Satair. We bridge strategy and execution to ensure reliable, cost-effective aerospace solutions for our global customers.

Your Working Environment:

Located at our Dulles, VA facility, you will work in an energetic, collaborative office and warehouse setting alongside experienced logistics professionals. 

Program Highlights:

  • Participation in the Summer 2027 Intern Program: May 17, 2027 - August 6, 2027 (12 weeks)

  • Involvement in strategic projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and expanding business capabilities.

  • Dedicated team to support your development throughout the program.

Your Challenges:

  • Process Analysis and Optimization: Assist the fulfillment and logistics teams in mapping current warehouse processes (e.g., picking, packing, shipping) and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.

  • Data Collection and Reporting: Support the business development initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing key operational data into actionable reports and presentations to inform management decisions.

  • Operational Support: Work closely with the warehouse team to understand daily operations and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

  • Project Documentation: Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new or optimized fulfillment processes, and when necessary assist in the coordination of training materials for warehouse staff.

Your Boarding Pass:

  • HS Diploma/GED and currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited college or university. 

  • Ability to work in the US without current or future need of visa sponsorship

Preferred: 

  • Degree in Business Administration ,Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related field. 

  • Skilled in the use of computer/programs to include Google Suite of products

  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal and external customers

  • Must be well organized and have good time management skills

  • Experience in Process Documentation or Mapping: Prior involvement in a project (academic or extracurricular)

  • Demonstrated Data Handling and Analysis Skills: Previous exposure to manipulating, validating, and presenting data

  • Previous experience in  Independent or Group Projects: Evidence of strong organizational, time management, and project ownership skills

  • Experience in continuous improvement

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 100%

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment 

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.100%

  • Speaking:able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.100%

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. 100% 

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. 20% 

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. 10%

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. 10%

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. 90% 

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. 10%

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. 50% 

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. 0%

  • Walking: (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents):  able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. 30%

  • Personal Protective Equipment required:Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site 100%

  •  Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor. 100%

Pay Range:

Hourly range based on the required profile: $24 - $39.75/hour. Rate determined by type of degree program and year in school (Bachelors through Masters). Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. This position offers the following benefits: Employee Assistance Program, Paid time off including paid holidays. These are our current benefit offerings for the current plan year and are subject to change without notice.
