Summer Internship: Business Operations Automation Intern (Hybrid - San Carlos, CA)

Education Required: Currently enrolled in a Master’s program (MS, MBA, MPH, or similar)

General Description:

The Business Operations Automation Intern will support initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiency across the organization by leveraging automation technologies. This intern will partner with stakeholders across departments to identify operational bottlenecks, design automation workflows, and develop tools that streamline repetitive tasks and improve data accuracy.

This role is ideal for a highly curious and analytical individual who enjoys problem-solving and building scalable solutions in a collaborative environment.

Essential Functions of the Internship:

• Identify opportunities for process automation across business operations
• Support the development and deployment of automation scripts, dashboards, and workflow tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational pain points and propose digital solutions
• Document technical requirements and workflow enhancements
• Develop and maintain reports that monitor the impact of implemented solutions
• Assist with testing, debugging, and optimization of automated processes
• Provide support for internal tools built to drive operational efficiency
• (Preferred) Familiarity with tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, or Alteryx
• (Preferred) Experience working with internal ticketing or workflow management systems

Computer Skills:   

• Excel (advanced)
• PowerPoint (strong presentation skills)
• SQL (basic querying preferred)
• Power BI or Tableau (for visualization)
• Python / R (preferred but not required)
• Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate, UiPath, Zapier)

Other Qualifications:    

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Effective communicator with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

$27.50/hr (bachelors)

$38.50/hr (masters)

$40.50/hr (PhD)
