The Summer Engineering Intern will participate in a 10-12 week internship focused on improving operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The intern will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to identify process improvements in the Terry Towel and Sheeting departments while supporting plant-wide projects that enhance productivity, automation, and overall operational performance.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop automated systems related to current activities that are performed manually in the plant.
- Implement Maintenance WO system and provide training to machine operators and maintenance department.
- Improve / streamline current method of production tracking reports.
- Participate in various meetings and training to support the plant.
- Additional responsibilities assigned as needed.
- Assist in LEAN events that are designed to drive continuous process improvements throughout the plant.
Qualifications Include:
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of completed coursework in an accredited Engineering Program
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Suite skills (primarily Excel)
Preferred:
- AutoCAD experience (primarily AutoCAD 2D)
