Note Finance is a division of the Specialized Mortgage Servicing Group that provides revolving lines of credit to Private Lenders to fund investor-owned real estate loans. Interns will learn the private lending industry through working directly on existing client's portfolio management, support the credit team to underwrite, and lead on specific department projects.
The Specialized Mortgage Services Group provides treasury management and lending services to businesses involved with the origination of real estate secured loans. This group is comprised of four areas (i) Warehouse Lending – Residential Consumer Mortgages; (ii) MSR Lending – Servicing Rights on Residential Consumer Mortgages; (iii) Correspondent Mortgage Solutions – Purchase of Residential Consumer Mortgages to be held on the Bank’s balance sheet; and (iv) Note Finance – Investor-owned Residential and Commercial Real Estate Mortgages.

In this paid internship, you’ll be empowered to work on challenging and complex issues in a collaborative environment with other talented interns. Over the 10-week program, you’ll participate in business projects, mentoring, leadership development training and team-building activities designed to set you up for professional success. The summer Internship program runs June through August, with flexible dates available, based on school schedules. Interns who perform well and demonstrate a commitment to our values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, passion and excellence may be extended employment opportunities with Western Alliance Bank.
We're looking for individuals who are passionate and entrepreneurial, just like our clients. Specifically, we're looking for top-performers interested in pursuing careers in Commercial Banking.

What you'll need:

  • Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a related field of study.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
  • An interest in working in the Commercial Business Banking industry.
  • To be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. We do not offer any type of employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program.
