About the Job

The Internship position is based in the Data and Computational Science (DCS) department within the Sanofi mRNA Center of Excellence (mRNA CoE), supporting activities in the CMC data science group. This position will focus on developing machine learning (ML) models for different units, such as In Vitro Transcription (IVT) in drug substance process development. The candidate will have opportunities to learn about mRNA technology and unit operations, and to demonstrate the benefits of ML modeling in a non-GMP lab environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will work with their supervisor to develop ML models for different unit operations.

• Activities include investigating how process parameters influence product quality attributes and uncertainty quantification, designing model-based DoE for model structure selection, and parameter optimization.

• Basic understanding of mRNA technology.

• Experience in ML, first principle, and hybrid dynamic modeling.

• Familiarity with mathematical software and packages (Python-sklearn, Julia, MATLAB, PYOMO, gPROMS).
