Background
Imerys has launched two lithium mining projects (the EMILI and the Imerys British Lithium projects) respectively in France and in the UK). The Projects schedule foresees production starting before the end of the decade, with a production target of 50 thousands tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent per year for at least 25 years, enough to power 1.2 million electrical vehicles.
Those integrated projects are well in line with respective national ambitions to develop local supply chains like set in the Critical Raw Materials Act. The combined capital expenditure of the project would be above 2 billions euros and will necessitate both public support and dedicated financing structure.
