Summary: Gives world-class technical analysis and advice on complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter. Directs the development of innovative and creative technical solutions to problems, questions, and issues, using effective and proven methods. Possesses in-depth knowledge of a particular area and is considered a national expert in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with organizational leadership to establish and implement strategic communications goals and content priorities.
- Devise strategies to enhance visibility to key external audiences and facilitate feedback mechanisms.
- Collaborate with various departments to identify stories and best practices that demonstrate the impact of evidence-based interventions.
- Utilize innovative strategies and technologies to increase engagement with organizational content and products.
- Develop methods to build brand awareness, amplify key messages, and enhance executive visibility.
- Build relationships with media, journalists, and other key individuals to increase visibility for organizational content and leadership.
- Identify strategic partnerships, speaking opportunities, and conferences to achieve communications objectives.
- Provide strategic communications support for organization-sponsored events.
- Analyze metrics to adapt and refine the communications strategy.
- Create internal communications strategies that promote engagement, staff appreciation, and effective information dissemination.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, knowledge management, or related field
- At least 15 years of experience in a strategic communications role, with a preference for backgrounds in education or research-focused organizations.
- Proven experience in strategic communications or a related field.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Demonstrated skills in communications and innovation in technical practice.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Proficiency in using metrics to guide communications strategies.
- Effective internal communications abilities to enhance organizational culture.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently. Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff
The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.
Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
US Based Hiring Salary Range: $128,000 - $160,000
International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
