We are looking for a Student Assistant in the Compliance and Data Protection team.

This role offers a rare opportunity to make an impact in a highly international and ambitious company while gaining experience in the areas of anti-bribery, competition law, sanctions, and export controls.

Hempel’s Compliance and Data Protection team is based at the corporate head office in Lyngby, and supports the entire Hempel Group. We are currently a diverse team of five colleagues focusing on different but overlapping areas of compliance.

Key responsibilities

You will be supporting compliance initiatives with high senior management attention --- working on a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Production and promotion of e-learning courses – proofreading content, testing, coordinating translations, drafting promotional material, and following up on completion
  • Following up on issues and requests relating to digital platforms used by the team
  • Maintaining compliance content on the team’s SharePoint site and Hempel’s policy management system.
  • Preparing progress reports and presentations for management
  • Conducting due diligence screening on potential business partners

To accomplish your assigned tasks, you will need to communicate effectively with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds. In addition to responding to queries from colleagues around the world, you will often need to understand input from experts in various subject areas such as IT, learning & development, HR, communications, finance, and legal.

The working hours are 15-20 hours per week. Your work can be arranged flexibly according to your classes and exam schedule.

To succeed in this role…

We are looking for a student at bachelor’s or master’s level with the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. (Other languages are not required but would be an advantage – particularly Chinese, German, Spanish, or Polish)
  • Independent and willing to take individual responsibility for your tasks, while understanding the team’s goals, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Good at keeping focus on projects with many stakeholders.

There is no single specific field of study required; many areas are relevant to compliance work including law, economics, finance, and international business. We would love to hear from if you meet the above criteria and have a demonstrated interest in compliance and corporate responsibility.
