The Role
As a Structural Analyst & Engineer, you'll be part of a pioneering team designing and optimizing vessels and mission equipment for some of the most innovative marine projects in the world. You’ll play a vital role in newbuilds and conversions, ensuring our fleet of vessels remains reliable, efficient, and safe. The Design & System Integration team operates both broadly and deeply — tackling multidisciplinary designs while diving into specialized technical topics. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, engage with external experts, ensuring seamless integration of systems and equipment used in our own fleet.
This is a hands-on, technical role where your expertise in structural design and analysis will directly impact the success of projects worldwide.Your responsibilities
  • Perform structural analyses for vessels and mission equipment, including global and local strength assessments, using beam models and FEM tools.

  • Conduct critical evaluations of vessel/equipment requirements and redefine structural needs where necessary.

  • Design key structural components for new vessels and equipment, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with regulations.

  • Develop technical specifications and test plans to validate structural integrity.

  • Review structural engineering performed by third parties to ensure quality and compliance with DEME standards.

  • Support basic design activities during concept and early design phases, in collaboration with newbuild project team.

  • Ensure high asset availability, structural integrity, safety, and minimal environmental impact.

  • Develop engineering and construction schedules and report progress to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to align designs and integrate feedback.

  • Engage with external engineering firms to source innovative solutions and specialized expertise.

  • You’ll operate in a multidisciplinary environment where your insights shape real-world outcomes — from seabed to surface.

Your profile

  • A MSc (Ing/Ir) degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong skills and experience in FEM/FEA software (e.g., Ansys).

  • Strong technical background and analytical skills.

  • Hands-on experience in performing complex and multidisciplinary engineering scopes and system integration.

  • Experience with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino).

  • Proficiency in general administration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Project).

  • A mindset that embraces complexity, optimizes processes, and takes action.

  • A collaborative spirit with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Business insight and a drive to innovate.

  • Willing to travel occasionally for site support and commissioning phases.

Our offer
  • A dynamic, technically challenging role in a key engineering team shaping DEME’s future assets.

  • A collaborative and supportive environment with internal experts across disciplines.

  • The opportunity to work on innovative, large-scale marine and offshore projects.

  • Career development in a global company that values initiative and expertise.

  • A competitive compensation package with benefits tailored to your needs.
