Job Title: Strategy & Launch Excellence Lead
Location: Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh
About the role:
The Strategy & Launch Excellence Lead - Vietnam plays a critical role in supporting the General Manager and leadership team in driving strategic priorities and enhancing business performance. This role is responsible for leading key strategic initiatives, managing portfolio assessments, and ensuring launch readiness for new products. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams within Vietnam, across regional, and with Global/GEM stakeholders to ensure alignment, effective execution, and data-driven decision-making. The role also supports operational coordination and performance tracking, contributing to both strategic impact and organizational capability building.
How you will contribute:
1. Strategy and Portfolio Planning
Lead and drive high-impact strategic initiatives in Vietnam (RISE, 2x2x2 eg..), ensuring alignment with local and area priorities to support both short- and long-term growth. Monitor achievement of key milestones to ensure timely and effective execution (eg via monthly strategic update meetings). Partner with leadership to identify growth levers, incubate future opportunity (eg via yearly strategy/scenario planning)
Oversee portfolio planning and prioritization for both existing and pipeline assets, in close collaboration with Finance and Insights & Analytics teams. Utilize data-driven approaches to evaluate commercial strategy effectiveness, guide investment decisions, and shape go-to-market models.
2. Lead for launch excellence and new product planning
With 7 launches planned over the next 5yrs, he/she will coordinate launch readiness in line with GEM launch framework and managing pipeline integration through cross-functional alignment and readiness across Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
3. Cross-Functional and Cross-Market Collaboration
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across functions and teams within Vietnam and the ISEA and above country. Work closely with global and area teams to align strategies, share best practices, and leverage resources to maximize impact across markets.
4. Strategic Capability Development
Through scanning of external economic, technology and social trends in VN, work with HR, I&A and relevant functions to elevate LOC capabilities.
What you bring to Takeda:
- High level of English and Vietnamese fluency (non negotiable)
- Curious and high learning agility proactively reads, digest and internalize external trends into pharma business eg digital, economy
- Strong story telling skills with ability to distill and convey complex concepts into a concise and structured narrative
- Has 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (preferable), with at least 2 years in strategic planning, portfolio management, or launch excellence roles
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with experience in data-driven decision making. Consultancy background a plus
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence without authority
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across local, area, and global levels.
