Job Summary

Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for internal customers. Ensure business solutions align with requirements and strategic goals. Design, document, test and leverage business solutions. Assist in defining and planning department project roadmap. Partner with clients and manage the business partner relationship, prioritizing and delivering services.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops detailed business cases, ROI calculations, value definition, cost assessments (expense/capital), benefits, and risk analyses.
  • Oversees the gathering and compilation of raw data. Conducts research for industry trends and benchmarks; and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format.
  • Analyzes, reports, makes comparisons to industry/company benchmarks, determines trends, and prepares cost analyses. Reviews and provides recommendations based on findings and analyses.
  • Prepares spreadsheets for data analysis; prepare reports with charts and graphs, mailing lists, maps and ad hoc requests. Makes presentations to business partners on findings.
  • Develops, supports, and improves business scorecards and presentations. Defines and measures key performance indicators.
  • Manages enterprise project intake, capital assignment, closure, and executive communications. May act as a project manager on approved projects.
  • Acts as a liaison between business unit representatives and customers. Coordinates efforts of various groups and consultants, and collaborates on issues with management, project team and customers.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to Business Analysts.

  • Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-departmental problems. Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.
  • Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
  • Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross-departmental considerations are often present.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 8+ years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong process discipline and follow-through
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear, executive-level reporting (dashboards, summaries, status updates)
  • Comfort managing and improving reporting tools and systems with the ability to quickly learn and support enterprise tools
  • Proactive problem solver who can operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
