Job Description:
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Mars you will partner closely with the Senior Sourcing Manager and Buyers to drive development & implementation of sub-category buying strategies and co-pilot optimization of resources. You’ll manage both regional and global initiatives by leveraging supplier relationships, while also driving standardization and automation. Ownership of sub-category spend on a global basis will be key, as will heavy x-functional collaboration and close partnership with key stakeholders.

Minimum:
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business or science related discipline
5 years of experience in Sourcing role; Direct material experience
Experience working in diverse teams and matrix organizations
Knowledge and experience with Strategic Sourcing process with the ability to implement the framework in a new product category
Proven leader who has demonstrated the openness to act as a team player, and situational leadership within peer group to influence business strategy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Excellent analytical skills for financial assessments and issue identification, along with flexible thinking to adapt to changing markets
A passion for developing strong relationships with supplier and cross functional stakeholders both domestically and internationally

Direct oversight of $50M+ spend
Accountable for setting and executing the Regional Sourcing Strategy for assigned ingredients for Royal Canin North America
Analyze market trends, identify market developments, and conduct category reviews and benchmarking
Lead RFP activities to drive competitive price advantage and qualification/implantation of new suppliers
Create Business Allocation Recommendations and contracts, once approved, to be signed based on the Limits of Authority
Manage supplier governance, including supplier performance auditing.
Act as the key point of contact for Supplier Relationship Management within region to fostering enhanced communication and collaboration.
Ensure the demand of required material volumes for all regional sites are secured and accounted for
Partner with the Sustainable and Responsible Sourcing Leads at Mars/Royal Canin to uphold and enhance the reputation of Mars and its brands

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
