Strategic Sourcing Engineer
Location: Beverly, MA (Hybrid)
Reports to: Director, Supply Chain
Travel Required: Minimal (10% or less)

As a Strategic Sourcing Engineer, you will serve as the technical bridge between Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to ensure the selection, qualification, and lifecycle management of components critical to our products. You will drive sourcing strategies that improve availability, reliability, quality, and cost while supporting Axcelis' commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
What You'll Do:
- Source, evaluate, select, and qualify components used in Axcelis products and technologies.
- Act as the primary technical interface between suppliers and internal engineering teams.
- Investigate and qualify alternate component technologies and sources to improve cost, quality, reliability, and supply continuity.
- Evaluate supplier change notifications and determine qualification requirements.
- Develop and execute component qualification plans including testing, validation, and documentation.
- Support lifecycle management and obsolescence mitigation activities.
- Develop supplier selection guidelines and qualification procedures.
- Maintain component records, qualification data, and technical documentation.
What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related technical field.
- 2–4 years of professional experience in sourcing, engineering, supplier quality, or related discipline.
- Experience working with suppliers and component qualification activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Semiconductor or high-technology manufacturing experience preferred.

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE
$74,935.39 - $112,403.09This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.
Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on
multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work
location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as
you develop within the role.
Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the
Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular
employees working 20+ hours a week).
