WEX Inc is seeking a Strategic Sales Manager to join our growing Telematics Sales team. This is a critical “hunter” role that will work internally and externally to identify prospects within medium sized businesses (~50-500 vehicles) segment of the US market. A successful candidate will identify, develop, and close opportunities that result in sales of WEX Telematics products and services. The ideal canidate will act as a "Trusted Adviser" and apply a solution selling approach that starts with understanding the customer's core needs, then positioning one of our industry-leading telematics solutions. The Strategic Sales Manager will work with a high performing team and be supported with robust training and networking opportunities.
How you'll make an impact
Sales, Revenue Generation and Customer Engagement
Work with internal and external sales, relationship management and customer success teams to develop a pipeline of opportunities within the medium sized B2B segment.
Engage prospects via phone, virtual meetings, email and potentially in-person to understand their challenges and goals related to fleet operations.
Use proven solution selling methodology to negotiate and close contracts with existing and new customers to exceed monthly sales quota.
Manage existing customer business reorders, upsells, and renewals.
Provide feedback on customer needs to improve solutions to internal and external partners.
Cross Functional Collaboration & Internal Processes:
Communicate the Voice of Customer to Marketing purposes.
Utilize Salesforce daily to maintain accurate records of all sales activities.
Work closely with the WEX Telematics Customer Success Team to ensure post-sale activities are successful.
Collaborate with other WEX sales teams to execute against referral opportunities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with our vendor partners, collaborating with them as needed to successfully close customer deals.
Support mentoring less experienced colleagues (if applicable) and share best practices across the team.
Experience you'll bring
2-4+ years of successful outside sales experience.
2-4+ years experience of successful prospecting.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Extremely organized, detail oriented and ability to handle multiple projects at one time
Multiple years experience w/ Google Office Suite, Salesforce.com are essential
Bachelor’s degree; or 5 years or equivalent work experience is preferred
The pay for this role is performance-driven and designed to reward top performers. This position is eligible for a lucrative, uncapped commission plan.
The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
