WEX is seeking an experienced Strategic Relationship Manager to manage and grow a premium portfolio of accounts across Australia and New Zealand. This role focuses on commercial growth and strategic partnership development within the travel payments ecosystem.
Rather than standard account maintenance, you will be responsible for identifying revenue opportunities, optimizing payment workflows, and ensuring WEX remains the primary payments partner for our key clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy: Develop and implement account-specific roadmaps to identify growth opportunities across the travel value chain.
Revenue Execution: Lead commercial negotiations and structure agreements to expand WEX’s footprint within your assigned portfolio.
Strategic Consulting: Act as a subject matter expert for C-Suite stakeholders, providing insights on payment optimization, industry trends, and financial efficiencies.
Portfolio Governance: Monitor portfolio performance through data-led insights, managing forecasting, risk mitigation, and performance reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside internal product and technical teams to ensure WEX solutions meet the specific needs of OTAs, TMCs, and wholesalers.
To ensure success in this role, candidates must demonstrate:
Experience: 5+ years in Relationship Management or Business Development, specifically within the Travel or Payments sectors.
Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of travel distribution (OTAs, TMCs, Wholesalers) and B2B payment flows.
Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in high-level negotiations and structuring complex commercial deals.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Salesforce and the ability to interpret and build financial models.
Mobility: Ability to travel across the ANZ region as required to maintain client relationships.
Preference: Experience with Virtual Cards (VCC) or B2B fintech solutions is highly regarded.
