What You’ll DoProcurement & purchase orders
- Source and procure materials and services from outside vendors to support Engineering and Manufacturing schedules.
- Issue, enter, and expedite purchase orders; maintain accurate PO records and proactively communicate supply issues to keep projects on track.
- Request competitive quotes and evaluate bids on cost, quality, and delivery.
Supplier relationships
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible cost and delivery terms.
- Own vendor contract review and execution for assigned categories, ensuring terms protect Lanco’s interests on cost, delivery, and quality.
- Own supplier scorecards for your assigned portfolio; hold vendors accountable to agreed-upon KPIs and drive structured improvement plans when performance falls short.
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with assigned suppliers.
- Work with global contracts and international suppliers.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Serve as the procurement point of contact embedded with Engineering, Quality, and Operations. Driving material decisions from spec through delivery and bringing procurement expertise into project conversations early.
Inventory & reporting
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with planning/scheduling to prevent shortages.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives across assigned spend categories. Identify opportunities, build the case, and drive execution. Run rebalance and procurement reports on a regular, timely basis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on procurement or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment, with a track record of independently managing a supplier portfolio - not primarily shipping, receiving, or inventory management. Custom or project-based manufacturing experience is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships with depth. Including contract negotiation, performance management, and escalation handling - not just transactional buying.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Global Shop Solutions, or similar) required; advanced Excel skills expected.
- Experience with international suppliers or global contracts preferred but not required.
- Independent, proactive problem-solver who identifies supply chain issues before they become crises and brings solutions to the table, not just flags.
- Strong communicator who can hold their own in cross-functional conversations with Engineering, Operations, and leadership. Comfortable with complexity and confident managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Professional certification (CPSM, CPSD, or CSCP) is a strong differentiator and reflects the level of expertise we’re looking for; not required but valued.
