The Role
Build and maintain automated operational systems across provider operations, patient experience, and healthcare workflows. Partner with leadership, Product, and Engineering to scale processes, improve visibility, and replace manual work with reliable tools. The role requires hands-on coding, API and SQL work, AI experimentation, data-driven judgment, and ownership from problem identification through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
Summary Generated by Built In

Berry Street is building a new model for metabolic healthcare. We provide medical nutrition therapy and GLP-1 prescribing covered by insurance, and we're building the product, operations, and clinical infrastructure to make high-quality care easier to access and easier to use.

We're at an inflection point: strong growth, real product-market pull, and a chance to shape how AI improves care delivery for both patients and providers. We're looking for a Strategic Operations Lead to help build the systems that let us scale through that next phase.

About the Role

We're a small team solving big problems, and we're hiring a tech-enabled operator generalist to report directly to our GM, US. You'll go wherever the business needs you most: find the problem, figure out a fix with whatever's at hand, ship it, and keep it running.

This role is for a builder, not a project manager. You'll create systems from scratch, put them into production, and maintain them yourself as needed. Some weeks that means automating a process that touches five teams; other weeks it means rolling up your sleeves on something urgent and messy. The right person sees a manual process and instinctively asks how to make it run without them, and then goes and does it.

What You'll Do
  • Take operational problems from messy and manual to automated and reliable, across provider operations, patient experience, and the systems in between
  • Build, ship, and maintain the tools and workflows you create, end to end
  • Partner with leadership, Product, and Engineering on how we scale, bringing a point of view grounded in what you've seen on the ground
  • Create visibility where it's missing, so problems surface early and decisions get made on data
  • Jump into whatever matters most right now, and leave behind a system rather than a workaround

Requirements
  • 2-5 years in fast-paced, scrappy environments: early-stage startups, BizOps or Strategy & Ops, or an operator seat where you were expected to figure it out
  • You geek out on AI. You follow new model releases and tooling closely, try things the week they come out, and have opinions about what's real and what's hype
  • You ship code. You use Claude Code, Codex, and similar tools to build and deploy real internal tools, integrations, and automations yourself, without waiting in an engineering queue
  • A track record of building things that work, not just planning them: real examples of manual processes you replaced with systems you built and kept running
  • Comfort with data: SQL, BI tools like Metabase, and working directly with APIs
  • Comfort with ambiguity and limited resources; you'd rather ship something useful this week than wait for the perfect setup
  • Strong judgment and communication; you can get clinical, operational, and technical people aligned and moving
  • Experience in digital health, provider operations, credentialing, payer enrollment, or revenue cycle is a plus
Who You Are
  • AI-led, not AI-assisted. We're not looking for someone who uses AI tools to move a spreadsheet faster. We're looking for someone who looks at an operational process and asks how it should be rebuilt from the ground up with autonomous systems doing work that wasn't possible two quarters ago. You've shipped something in this space, you have opinions about where it's going, and you're already building for that future. When a new model or tool drops, you've tried it by the end of the week and come back with ideas for what it could do here.
  • A product brain. You think about the people on the other end of the workflow, whether that's a provider getting credentialed or a patient waiting on a prior authorization, not just the system. You push back when a process doesn't make sense and offer better alternatives. You need to understand the "why."
  • An ownership mindset. You take a project from "vague idea" to "shipped and working" without needing someone to hand-hold you through the middle. You flag problems early, drive decisions, and follow through.
  • A bias for speed. You understand the difference between moving fast and cutting corners, and you know when a situation calls for one or the other. In healthcare operations, that judgment matters.

Benefits
  • The chance to drive impact in healthcare from day one, with direct exposure to company leadership
  • Comprehensive health insurance, including medical, dental and vision
    • Unlimited dietitian and GLP-1 care
  • Light-filled Madison Square Park office
  • Generous PTO
  • 401(k) with match
  • Citi Bike membership
  • Unlimited dietitian care
  • Continuous learning opportunities
  • Competitive salary and equity

Skills Required

  • 2-5 years of experience in fast-paced, scrappy environments such as early-stage startups, BizOps, Strategy & Operations, or an operator role
  • Strong interest in AI, including following new model releases and tooling
  • Ability to build and deploy internal tools, integrations, and automations using Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools
  • Track record of replacing manual processes with systems that were built and maintained
  • Comfort with SQL, BI tools such as Metabase, and APIs
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and limited resources
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, with the ability to align clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders
  • Experience in digital health, provider operations, credentialing, payer enrollment, or revenue cycle
