Job Description

The mandate

Be the person the CFO trusts to tell the capital markets story — to lenders, rating agencies, the board, and equity investors — and make sure every number behind it is bulletproof.

IFS is approaching €2 billion in revenue and growing more than 20% a year — because we bet earlier and harder on industrial AI than anyone in our category. EQT, Hg, TA Associates, ADIA, and CPP Investments didn't fund incremental software growth. They funded a thesis: the companies that build and run the physical world will run on agentic AI, and on IFS.

A capital structure this complex — multiple PE sponsors, institutional co-investors, leveraged debt facilities, and credit ratings to maintain — generates a relentless cycle of reporting, communication, and event support. None of it is routine. Every board pack, lender deliverable, and rating agency interaction is a moment where IFS's credibility is either reinforced or eroded. This role exists to make sure it's always reinforced.

What you'll own

Board reporting. You own the board report end-to-end. That means shaping the narrative, assembling the financials, pressure-testing the commentary, and ensuring the pack tells a coherent story about where the business is and where it's going. You'll work directly with the CFO to land the message — and you'll be close enough to the detail to defend every line.

Monthly finance call. You own the preparation and materials for the monthly finance review — the operating rhythm through which the CFO and senior leadership track performance, flag issues, and make decisions. You ensure the pack is sharp, the variances are explained, and the meeting moves fast.

Lender reporting. You own the quarterly lender compliance and information packs. Covenant calculations, financial summaries, management commentary — produced to the standard a syndicate of institutional lenders expects. Accuracy matters; so does timeliness. You will build the relationships with the lender group and manage the ongoing dialogue.

Credit rating agency support. You will lead the preparation for annual credit rating reviews and ad hoc interactions with the agencies. That means assembling the data room, preparing management presentations, anticipating the questions, and ensuring IFS presents a clear, consistent, and well-evidenced credit story.

Refinance and debt capital markets support. When the business refinances, extends, or restructures its debt facilities, you will be at the centre of the workstream — coordinating with external advisors, preparing management presentations, building the information flow, and supporting the CFO through execution. This is high-stakes, time-pressured work with direct exposure to institutional investors and banks.

Equity event support. For any equity-related process — whether secondary transactions, new investor onboarding, or eventual liquidity events — you provide the analytical backbone. Investor materials, Q&A preparation, data room management, and coordination across finance and the business. You will be in the room for conversations that most people in finance never see.

Why it's rare

Most finance roles at this level give you one of these things. This one gives you all of them — simultaneously.

You'll run the board reporting rhythm of a business backed by some of the world's most sophisticated investors. You'll be the person lenders and rating agencies know by name. You'll sit inside refinancings and equity events that involve billions in enterprise value — not as a bystander, but as the person the CFO relies on to make them work.

This is not a back-office reporting role. It's the front line of how a €15 billion company communicates its financial position to the people who fund it. For someone who wants to build deep capital markets credibility from inside a corporate — rather than advising from outside — this is the role.

Qualifications

What we're hiring for

We are hiring for precision, judgement, and the ability to operate at pace across multiple high-stakes workstreams without dropping a thread. You hold yourself to an exceptionally high bar on accuracy, and you have the communication skills to translate complex financial information into clear, compelling narratives for sophisticated audiences.

You'll typically bring:

Capital markets fluency. You understand how lenders, rating agencies, and institutional equity investors think. You've been on at least one side of these interactions before — origination, advisory, investor relations, leveraged finance, or ratings — and you know what good looks like.

Reporting precision. You are meticulous. Board packs, lender packs, and rating agency presentations leave your hands clean, consistent, and defensible. You spot the error before anyone else does, and you care about the quality of the document as much as the quality of the number.

Narrative skill. Numbers don't speak for themselves. You know how to frame a financial story — what to lead with, what to contextualise, what to leave out — for an audience that reads dozens of these a quarter.

Composure under pressure. Reporting deadlines don't move. Refinancings have signing dates. Rating reviews have fixed windows. You are calm, organised, and reliable when the timeline compresses.

Ownership mindset. You don't wait to be told what the board pack should say. You draft it, you challenge it, you land it. You treat these deliverables as yours — because they are.

A builder's instinct in an AI world. We run on bleeding-edge technology and we expect you to push it further. If there's a faster, more accurate, more automated way to produce a lender pack or build a board report, you find it and make it real.

Relevant experience from one or more of:

    • Transaction services / Big 4 deal advisory
    • Investment banking / Corporate finance
    • Investor relations or corporate development at a PE-backed or publicly listed business
    • Strategic FP&A with significant investor or lender-facing responsibilities

What we care less about

  • Years of experience — sharpness and standards matter more than tenure
  • Having done every one of these workstreams before — we'll teach context, but we can't teach judgement
  • Specific sector experience
  • A finance degree — if you learned the craft somewhere unconventional but your output is exceptional, we want to hear from you

Experience matters less than the standard of work. Unsure whether you qualify? Apply — we'll figure it out together.

Additional Information

We believe that coming together as a community, in person, is important for innovation, connection and fostering a sense of belonging. Our roles have the right balance of remote and in-office working to enable flexibility for managing your life along with ensuring a real connection with your colleagues and the broader IFS community.

Skills Required

  • Capital markets fluency (lenders, rating agencies, institutional investors)
  • Proven precision in financial reporting and covenant calculations
  • Ability to craft clear, compelling financial narratives for senior stakeholders
  • Calmness and organisation under tight deadlines and high-pressure events
  • Ownership mindset - leading board packs, lender packs, and management deliverables end-to-end
  • Experience supporting refinancings, debt capital markets, or equity transactions
  • Background from one or more: Transaction services/Big 4, Investment banking, Investor relations/Corporate development at PE-backed or public company, or Strategic FP&A with investor/lender-facing responsibilities
  • Willingness to apply and improve AI/automation tools to reporting processes
