Airbnb’s public policy campaign team exists to further the interests of our community of hosts and guests with politicians, regulators, opinion leaders and others who shape the political and legal context for our business, helping them to understand the significant social and economic positive contributions of our platform.
Across the EMEA region, we are engaged in over hundred local conversations and negotiations with governments, at local, regional, national and EU levels. We use innovative advocacy and partnership strategies that actively involve our community and our stakeholders in making the case for fair, progressive home sharing rules.
The France/Belgium Public Policy Campaign team is responsible for managing our local public policy, government affairs, compliance and engagement strategies in the region, with a primary focus on France. We operate proactively and reactively, building innovative and creative policy solutions that ensure our host and guest community can strive.
Our work is supplemented and amplified by a range of innovative online and offline tactics and tools to build creative content, digital campaigns, engagement strategies to reach our primary audience of policymakers and key opinion leaders and strengthen the reputation and favorability of Airbnb in France. We are now looking for a Strategic Engagement Associate to support the team in this work.
The Difference You will Make:
Together with the Strategic Engagement Manager, the Strategic Engagement Associate will provide strategic, operational and creative support to the Public Policy Campaign team by sharing best practices and ensuring the consistency of content, campaigns and programs led across the region.
In this role, you must be high-skilled in project management, social media and digital paid media campaigns (strategy building, content production, media planning and measurement). Curious, creative, innovative and proactive, you must be able to actively participate in cross-functional projects, with a focus on results and positive impact.
The ideal candidate is passionate about Airbnb’s mission, with a deep knowledge of the local policy landscape and a strong interest in the travel and tourism industry.
A Typical Day:
- Manage operations for the delivery and measurement of policy online and offline strategic campaigns, with the associated budget: build out campaign plans and set KPIs, coordinate creative support with key stakeholders (media agencies, creative freelancers), inform cross-functional teams, ensure key initiatives are on track and provides data analysis of results.
- Prepare a diverse range of materials to support the successful external policy engagement strategy of the France/Belgium Public Policy Campaign team: write and edit action-oriented emails, compel social media posts, narrative blog posts and landing pages, oversee design of visual elements such as infographics, videos, photos, reports.
- Build out social media strategies, in line with our policy narratives and objectives. This includes the development of holistic content standards, best practices and guidelines, playbooks and templates, in alignment with other functions (Business, Legal, Comms, Marketing, etc).
- Provides daily operational support to the France/Belgium Public Policy Campaign Team to ensure policy goals are reached: participates in policy events and joins external discussions, provides operational support on key policy programs and partnerships, helps to identify key partnerships opportunities.
Your Expertise:
- At least 3/4 years of experience in social media, paid media and project management in a corporate or a public institution. A prior experience in political campaigns or in the travel and tourism industry is a plus ;
- Excellent creative thinker and communicator with an eye for design, great writing and presentation skills, able to think outside the box ;
- Self-starter with a good sense of humor and team spirit, with the ability to thrive in a fast moving company and in a complex political or regulatory environment ;
- Impeccable organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to take data-driven decisions and to document processes. Analytical skills to measure performances of media campaigns is a plus ;
- Excellence in multi-tasking by prioritizing work across various functions to achieve project goals and objectives ;
Candidates must speak fluent French and English. You must submit your application in English.
This role is located in Paris, but it can involve working from home. The role is also likely to involve occasional travel in France, in Europe and also to our global headquarters in San Francisco.
