About the Role
We are looking for a commercially driven and technically strong Strategic Account Manager to own, retain, and grow a portfolio of mature strategic client accounts. The role is ideal for someone who can combine technical understanding, business acumen, executive communication, and relationship-led growth to create sustainable and scalable revenue from existing clients.
The person will act as the face of the organization for assigned clients, build trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders, identify new opportunities independently, and work closely with Sales, Delivery, and Practice teams to convert opportunities into long-term business value. While the role requires cross-functional collaboration, ownership and accountability for account growth, client health, and relationship depth will remain with the Strategic Account Manager.

Role Purpose
· Protect and grow revenue from existing strategic clients who have been associated with the organization for more than 1.5 years.
· Build strong multi-level client relationships and become a trusted advisor to stakeholders across business, technology, and leadership teams.
· Identify growth opportunities proactively instead of waiting for client requests or internal sales direction.
· Create sustainable, scalable, and predictable account growth through structured account planning and disciplined execution.
· Ensure the organization is positioned as a strategic technology partner, not only as a delivery vendor.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Account Ownership
· Own assigned strategic accounts end-to-end, including relationship depth, account health, revenue growth, retention, and expansion.
· Develop a clear understanding of each client's business model, technology landscape, operating priorities, decision-making structure, and future roadmap.
· Prepare and execute quarterly and annual account growth plans with measurable actions, opportunity pipeline, and relationship coverage.
· Build strong connect with decision-makers, influencers, delivery stakeholders, procurement teams, and executive sponsors.
· Act as the internal owner for the client and ensure all teams are aligned on client expectations, risks, commitments, and growth priorities.

2. Revenue Growth and Account Mining
· Identify cross-sell, upsell, extension, renewal, managed services, consulting, product engineering, modernization, AI, analytics, cloud, Microsoft, ERP/CRM, and other technology-led opportunities within assigned accounts.
· Create opportunities independently through regular discovery conversations, stakeholder mapping, business reviews, and proactive problem identification.
· Work with Sales, Practice Leaders, Pre-Sales, and Delivery teams to shape solutions, prepare proposals, support commercials, and convert opportunities.
· Maintain accurate account-level forecast, pipeline visibility, and growth roadmap for leadership review.
· Drive revenue sustainability by expanding engagement depth, reducing dependency on single projects, and increasing wallet share across the client organization.

3. Customer Success and Relationship Management
· Act as the voice of the client within the organization while balancing commercial priorities and delivery realities.
· Conduct regular account reviews, executive business reviews, health checks, satisfaction discussions, and growth conversations with clients.
· Identify delivery, staffing, communication, commercial, or relationship risks early and coordinate mitigation plans with relevant teams.
· Manage escalations professionally and ensure timely resolution through the right internal stakeholders.
· Create a high-trust client experience through proactive communication, transparency, ownership, and follow-through.

4. Technical and Consultative Engagement
· Use strong technical background to understand client needs, solution areas, delivery constraints, architecture direction, and technology decisions.
· Engage confidently with client technology teams and translate business problems into technology-led opportunities.
· Participate in solutioning, estimation, roadmap discussions, technology consulting conversations, and proposal development.
· Guide internal teams by providing business context, client priorities, stakeholder expectations, and commercial relevance.
· Ensure account conversations are consultative and value-led rather than limited to delivery status updates.

5. Delivery Governance and Internal Collaboration
· Partner closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Architects, Practice Heads, and Resource Management teams to ensure successful execution across accounts.
· Monitor delivery quality, team stability, scope alignment, financial health, utilization, billing status, and client satisfaction indicators.
· Support staffing discussions, ramp-up planning, role alignment, and continuity planning for key client engagements.
· Ensure timely internal coordination for proposals, escalations, renewals, account reviews, and client commitments.
· Drive accountability across teams while maintaining overall ownership of the client relationship and business outcome.

Required Experience
· 8+ years of experience in IT services, software services, digital engineering, enterprise applications, cloud, data, AI, Microsoft technologies, ERP/CRM, or technology consulting.
· Minimum 5 years in account management, client partner, engagement management, customer success, delivery leadership, pre-sales, or business relationship management roles.
· Strong background in technology delivery or technical consulting, with the ability to understand solution discussions and delivery implications.
· Proven experience managing existing client relationships and growing business through account mining, renewals, cross-sell, upsell, and stakeholder engagement.
· Experience working with global clients, preferably in the US, UK, Europe, or similar international markets.
· Demonstrated ability to work with sales, delivery, practice, pre-sales, and leadership teams while owning the final account outcome.

Technical Competencies
· Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile delivery, managed services, support models, project governance, and technology consulting delivery models.
· Ability to understand high-level architecture, solution design, technical dependencies, delivery estimates, and project risks.
· Exposure to one or more technology areas such as Microsoft technologies, Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Data & Analytics, AI, Cloud, .NET, Java, modern web platforms, enterprise applications, or integration solutions.
· Ability to conduct meaningful technical conversations with client stakeholders without necessarily being hands-on in coding.
· Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, CRM systems, reporting dashboards, and account planning tools.

Skills Required

  • 8+ years of experience in IT services, software services, digital engineering, enterprise applications, cloud, data, AI, Microsoft technologies, ERP/CRM, or technology consulting
  • At least 5 years in account management, client partner, engagement management, customer success, delivery leadership, pre-sales, or business relationship management
  • Strong background in technology delivery or technical consulting
