Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Strategic Account Executive (SAE) who will define, develop, and execute client-centric strategies for large, complex key, and/or national accounts. This role builds trusted relationships with key business partners, including C-Suite executives, to translate strategy into measurable business outcomes while driving client retention, growth, and long-term partnership success. In addition, this role provides strategic leadership and direction across cross-functional teams, ensuring accountability for key performance indicators and successful execution of client strategies..

To be considered for this opportunity, you have:

Required Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience managing complex key and/or national accounts involving enterprise level products or services within the healthcare industry. Experience with self-funded health plans is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of leadership, underwriting knowledge, and strategic/consultative selling and account management capabilities.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college).

Required Licenses/Certifications: State of Idaho Resident License or must obtain within 120 days of hire

Location: This position is based in Meridian Idaho, and requires a local presence; it offers hybrid work location (both onsite campus and work-from-home, as well as client site/in-field). #LI-hybrid

Travel: Ability to travel and attend client meetings, industry events, and other business functions, including occasional commitments outside standard business hours

Your day may look like:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that establish mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones over one- and three-year planning horizons while achieving retention and growth objectives.

  • Drive client retention, expansion, and cross-sell opportunities through strategic relationship management, market expertise, and consultative engagement.

  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through strategic benefit consultations, proactive service, and ongoing responsiveness to client needs.

  • Transform complex concepts into actionable strategic visions and business plans. Lead solution development and account performance while collaborating and coordinating departments and individuals across the organization.

  • Analyze data and market insights to identify opportunities and translate findings into actionable recommendations and strategic initiatives.

  • Partner closely with internal business partners across sales, underwriting, operations, product, and clinical teams to deliver client-specific solutions.

  • Communicate account performance, business risk, strategic opportunities, and key activities to senior leadership.

  • Monitor local and national market trends and advise on product and solution enhancements that align with evolving client needs.

  • Support day-to-day activities that contribute to individual, team, and account success.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is $131,541 to $197,311. The position is eligible for an annual sales incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance).

The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, internal equity, geography, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
