The Insurance Strategic Account Executive is responsible for driving long-term business growth, strategic partnership, and customer success within some of Microsoft’s most important insurance customers. The role serves as the senior account leader and trusted advisor to business and technology executives, building relationships across the organization to understand strategic priorities, anticipate industry and competitive pressures, and align Microsoft’s capabilities to the customer’s most important business outcomes.
The Strategic Account Executive develops and leads a comprehensive account strategy grounded in the customer’s business priorities and the forces reshaping insurance, including AI, data modernization, cloud transformation, cybersecurity, customer and employee experience, and operational efficiency. The AE identifies and shapes transformational opportunities, builds executive sponsorship, and translates customer priorities into sustained growth for both the customer and Microsoft.
Success requires strong knowledge of the insurance industry, exceptional executive engagement and commercial skills, and the ability to navigate complex organizations and multi-year transformation agendas. The AE leads the broader Microsoft account team, bringing together specialists, engineering, partners, and industry resources around a common customer strategy while maintaining clear accountability for business outcomes and execution.
The Strategic Account Executive also serves as the primary steward of the overall Microsoft relationship. This includes anticipating risks, addressing customer concerns, navigating competitive dynamics, and mobilizing Microsoft leadership and resources when needed. Ultimately, the role is accountable for expanding Microsoft’s strategic relevance, creating measurable customer value, and building durable, long-term growth across the account.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR Master's Degree AND 9+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR 13+ years experience in working in an industry (e.g., financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, government, education, technology) and/or driving digital transformation OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives.
- 8+ years experience closing large, complex agreements/deals.

- Experience working in financial services/insurance industry driving digital transformation or equivalent experience.

Strategic Account Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
