We are looking for our next Storeroom Specialist to join our Supply Chain / Warehouse Operations team. The Storeroom Specialist is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring operational continuity and efficiency across the facility through effective inventory management, material coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires advanced expertise in inventory control, ERP systems such as SAP, and compliance with hazardous materials handling and safety requirements.
The Storeroom Specialist serves as a key liaison between procurement, production, finance, maintenance, and warehouse operations to independently resolve supply chain issues that impact plant performance. This position is accountable for inventory accuracy, repair workflow management, process improvement initiatives, and training support while helping drive operational excellence across the facility.
This position is located in Keokuk, IA.
CompensationThe current salary range for this role is estimated to be $65,000 – $80,000. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
What You’ll DoUtilize SAP to manage complex inventory transactions, maintain accurate inventory data, and support compliance with hazardous materials and regulatory requirements
Apply industry best practices in logistics, inventory management, and supply chain operations
Independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve supply chain disruptions, urgent material shortages, and invoice reconciliation discrepancies
Lead root cause analysis for inventory variances and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
Manage critical workflows including repair management, inter-warehouse transfers, and inventory reconciliation processes
Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and minimize operational risks associated with inventory and material handling errors
Support production uptime by ensuring timely availability of materials and coordinating with multiple departments across the facility
Manage high-value inventory and contribute to cost control and operational efficiency initiatives
Serve as primary back-up to the Warehouse Supervisor as needed
Process emergent purchase requests and support urgent operational needs
Lead cycle count teams and inventory auditing activities
Coach, train, and support onboarding of new storeroom personnel
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and warehouse operations
Participate in cross-functional teams focused on optimizing plant and supply chain performance
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in a corn wet milling plant or manufacturing environment may be considered
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in inventory control, industrial warehousing, purchasing, or maintenance environments, preferably within a continuous processing or manufacturing facility
Advanced experience with SAP or equivalent ERP/CMMS inventory control systems, including data analysis, inventory reconciliation, and process improvement initiatives
Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex inventory, supply chain, and invoice discrepancies
Experience leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
Experience coordinating cross-functional projects with procurement, production, maintenance, and finance teams
Proven leadership experience training and mentoring team members and/or leading cycle count or process improvement initiatives
Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and provide data-driven recommendations
Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors
Understanding of food-grade processing equipment and parts, mechanical aptitude, and compliance requirements for regulated materials preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis, as well as Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to work effectively in both office and warehouse/plant environments
May provide training, mentoring, and leadership support to storeroom personnel and cycle count teams
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb stairs; and work in hot, cold, and loud environments
Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling greater than 100 pounds may be required
This is a full-time, day-shift position, Monday through Friday
Additional flexibility in hours may be required to support operational needs

Skills Required
