Job Summary:

The Storeroom Coordinator performs all materials tasks relating to the requisitioning, ordering, inventorying, stocking, reconciling, receiving, and delivery of supplies in the most efficient manner while maintaining high levels of customer service. Maintains a high standard of accuracy when ordering supplies and interacts frequently with the hospital clinical staff to ensure service levels are being met. Efficiently manages tasks while working in a sterile, fast-paced and high-demand environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receives and Delivers all supplies and equipment to the departments in an efficient, safe, and timely manner.
  • Consistently checks supplies upon receipt to ensure equipment and supplies are not damaged.
  • Properly logs and notifies departments of any backorders, and notify Procurement Coordinator.
  • Checks all shipping and receiving documents for accuracy before receiving, properly inputs into MMIS.
  • Accurately records and maintains implant and tissue logs.
  • Maintains all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner. All items are taken out of original shipping box for storage.
  • Restocks utilizing proper rotation (first in, first out) organization, identification, documentation, and proper location of stocked items.
  • Adequately prepare all oversized shipments in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Assist and participate in the preparation of annual physical inventory stock.
  • Assist and participate in annual inventory stock.
  • Maintain all equipment utilized in transporting supplies in a manner that ensures safe and reliable operation.
  • Consistently considers the most cost-effective means of shipping products and equipment.
  • Makes a conscious effort to meet the needs of each department and nursing unit.
  • Arranges tasks and combines deliveries to departments in order to increase time efficiency.
  • Regularly demonstrates the ability to accommodate interruptions in schedules (deliveries, emergency requests, etc.) and revise accordingly.
  • Requires minimal supervision in performance of duties.
  • Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.
  • Displays concern for increasing productivity and improving work habits by recommending changes to Inventory Coordinator, being mindful and supportive of policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Communicates clearly and appropriately to the Materials Management Director and co-workers.
  • Checks all shipping and receiving documents for accuracy before receiving or shipping packing slips.
  • Reconciles contracted pricing to invoice pricing to ensure compliance, accuracy, and proper documentation of items.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy when dealing with all people.
  • Exhibits and practices good customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of Oswego Health, including but not limited to Standards of Behavior, Dress Code, etc.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality at all times.
  • Complete competencies, training materials, and educational requirements annually or as assigned.
  • Practice Infection Control measures, including frequent hand washing.
  • Attend staff meetings when required.
  • Attend department in-services as directed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree preferred.
  • Hazardous Material Shipping Certification required upon hire or within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience in inventory/logistics and related functions required.
  • Experience in healthcare setting preferred.

Working Conditions:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring may involve lifting up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds, fine motor skills, visual acuity. Ability to travel regularly to various work sites.

Pay Range: $16.07-$19.28/hour

Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
