JOB ROLE SUMMARY
Storage Engineers ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Storage Area Networks, NAS (Network Attached Storage) Arrays and Out Of Band managed Storage Arrays as well as any array or appliance based replication. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the storage arrays and array based replication as well as the Storage Area Networks that they are attached to.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fully functional and self-directed
Provides formal mentorship
High complexity assignments- owner
Moderate complexity assignments - owner (1 or >)
Low complexity assignments - provide oversight/review
Regularly lead self and others and/or established as Product SME and/or established as specialist
Sees the whole picture and adjusts work accordingly
Resolve issues, manage workload and balance priorities through frequent interruptions while meeting specific, time-sensitive deadlines
Mentors other with less experience
Participate in service restoration calls for supported managed SAN Fabric and Storage Arrays
Participate in client disaster recovery/business continuity tests
Remediates security vulnerabilities
Automates and scripts various tasks/jobs as needed
Creates reports as required on various components, inventory, licensing, etc.
Delegates various tasks to other team members
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct reports but may mentor less experienced associates in the role.
