Job Description

  • Operating and maintaining the dishwashing equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the Kitchen, team member canteen and Storage areas to meet health and safety standards.
  • Thoroughly cleaning pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
  • Providing clean equipment to kitchen staff in a timely manner.
  • Performing special cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisors and management.
  • Maintaining high sanitation standards throughout the facility.
  • Organizing and storing clean dishes and utensils appropriately.
  • Identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Assisting in inventory management of cleaning supplies.
  • Handling cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with regulations.
  • Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
  • Participating in training sessions to enhance job-related skills.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized personal workspace.
  • Ensuring proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
  • Contributing to a positive work environment through professionalism and teamwork.

 

Qualifications

• High School Certificate or equivalent vocational training and full grade 12 certificate
• Must have worked at least one year experience as a Steward in luxury Safaris or 5-star hotel establishment.
• Perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy and follow-through.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
• Strongly committed to teamwork and customer service.
