Position:            Steward
Department:      Food and Beverage
Job Summary:

Ensures all dishware, glassware, flatware, and other eating utensils as well as pots and pans are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards. Utilizes dish machines and other equipment ensuring safety and cautionary signage are appropriately displayed, when necessary.


Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

  • Cleans and sanitizes all dishware, glassware, silverware, flatware, and other eating utensils as well as pots and pans are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards.
  • Keeps dishware, glassware, flatware, and other eating utensils organized and ready for use.
  • Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of other kitchen areas, such as work stations and food delivery carts.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels of cleaning supplies in own work area; advises supervisor if running short.
  • Inspects equipment before and after use; makes sure it is clean and in proper working order.
  • Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
  • Participates in cross-training, as available, such as learning how to prep food items.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth-running operation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Essential functions of the position:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and transport materials and/or equipment frequently up to fifty (50) pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach high areas, stoop, pull, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and bend for duties.
  • Must be able to work at and travel to all CDS properties.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that is sometimes stressful.
  • Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members positively and professionally.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Ability to read, write, and fill out any necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to use some food preparation equipment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a valid gaming license/background check.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous food service experience.
