Key responsibilities of the State Program Managers will be as follows:

Project Design and Development

·         Lead and contribute to the end-to-end designing of projects, from ideation to execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs.

·         Collaborate with internal team and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

·         Integrate innovative approaches and best practices to enhance project effectiveness and sustainability.

Program implementation

       Ensure efficient and effective implementation of all programs in the state, regardless of funding sources/donors.

       Support, guide, monitor and build capacity of field level teams and community stakeholders. 

       Foster innovation to maximise program impact, in consultation and collaboration with mission teams and local stakeholders.

       Promote cross learning linkages to continuously improve programme quality and impact.

       Support State Head and collaborate with Resource Mobilisation team to explore funding opportunities, especially CSR and local funds.

       Generate program data and content for donor acquisition and reporting

       Assist in risk assessment and incorporate mitigation strategies into planning.  

Budget Management

·         Prepare and manage detailed project budgets, ensuring optimal resource utilisation.

·         Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with internal, statutory and donor requirements.

·         Conduct periodic financial checks and adjust budgets as needed.

·         Develop budgets for new proposals to support resource mobilization efforts.

Team management

       Lead and manage state-level program/project teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.

       Coordinate with mission teams to strengthen program integration.

       Ensure timely and high-quality internal and external reporting

       Supervise reportees to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

Maintain regular communication with donors to update them on project progress.

Requirements

·         Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Development Studies, Rural Management, or a related field.

·         5–8 years of relevant experience in program management, preferably in the development or NGO sector.

·         Experience working at the grassroots level with marginalized communities; experience with older populations is an advantage.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Excellent presentation and public relations abilities.

·         Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools.

·         Sensitivity and commitment to the mission and values of HelpAge India



Skills Required
