The Role

As State Lead, Private Wealth (WA), you are accountable for leading the WA Professional Wealth Management function to deliver high quality fee for service advice and achieve state based service, revenue and member outcomes.
This is a player coach role, combining leadership of the WA team with the personal delivery of high quality financial advice to a portfolio of members with complex needs, including high net worth clients and senior university staff.
You will lead advisers and local teams, elevate advice quality and governance, and contribute to the national advice strategy — while remaining actively engaged in advice delivery and client relationships.

Key Accountabilities

•    Lead and develop the WA advice and support teams to deliver service, advice and commercial targets
•    Personally deliver high quality financial advice to members with complex needs, including HNW clients and senior professionals
•    Strengthen relationships with employers, university partners and key stakeholders to grow advice engagement
•    Ensure high standards of advice quality, governance, compliance and risk management
•    Contribute to commercial performance, operational efficiency and innovation in advice delivery
•    Represent UniSuper through events, partnerships and thought leadership across WA

About You

You are an experienced financial advice professional with a strong track record delivering advice to clients with complex needs, combined with the ability to lead, mentor and elevate a team.
This role will suit an established advice leader who has remained close to clients and continues to deliver advice
You are credible “on the tools,” with the judgment and technical depth to support advisers while also setting direction and driving performance.

You Will Bring

•    Relevant tertiary qualifications in financial advice, finance, economics or a related discipline
•    Demonstrated experience delivering complex personal financial advice (including HNW or sophisticated client segments)
•    Leadership capability, including experience leading, mentoring or coaching advisers
•    Strong technical knowledge across retirement strategies, superannuation, taxation, investments and Centrelink
•    Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building capability
•    The ability to balance advisory excellence with sustainable commercial outcomes
