This Position reports to:
Head of Strategy & Business DevelopmentIn this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Drive Products division in accessing the startup ecosystem and searching for technologies and solutions. Each day, you will help educate the business on disruptive technology opportunities and game changing business models. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the development of businesses’ strategy for technology ventures.

This role is contributing to the Drive Products division of ABB Motion globally. It is based in Bangalore, India. Main stakeholders are the leadership team of the Drive Products division.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Managing the full lifecycle of start-up engagement and innovation ecosystems in India but also with a focus on global division needs
- identifying key areas of interest with input from main stakeholders (BL India, global R&D, PM, Strategy teams)
- pipeline building,
- target development and negotiation,
- deal execution
- post-investment management
Qualifications for the role
- Industrial/Manufacturing Industry Experience (prior exposure to drives technology, industrial automation, or adjacent sectors)
- 5+ years preferred in the full life cycle of start-up engagement and innovation ecosystems with a focus on India
- Up-to-date familiarity with latest technological trends industrial and factory automation such as artificial intelligence. Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and PLCs is plus.
- Understanding of global markets and competitive landscapes in the drives industry and, more broadly, in factory and industrial automation
- Understanding of financial reporting and competitive analysis
- Technology & Market Scouting (experience in technology assessments, white-space analysis, or innovation scouting)
- Project Management & Cross-functional Leadership (experience working with R&D, strategy, finance, and legal teams to drive complex projects)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field such as: Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering) (for understanding drives technology and industrial ecosystems) - preferred
- Business Administration (MBA), ideally combined with engineering/ industrial experience.
