Standing Seam Technical Senior Engineer

NAFFCO is looking for an experienced Design Engineer – Standing Seam Roofing to be responsible for the engineering design, technical documentation, shop drawings, material take-offs, and project coordination related to standing seam roofing and metal cladding systems. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of standing seam systems and relevant experience in roofing and cladding projects.

• Prepare engineering calculations and technical designs for standing seam roofing systems.

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details using AutoCAD.

• Prepare accurate Material Take-Offs (MTO) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).

• Prepare and submit technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, and related technical documentation.

• Review project specifications, tender documents, IFC drawings, and contract requirements.

• Coordinate with consultants, clients, architects, structural engineers, production teams, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.

• Ensure design and drawings comply with manufacturing and installation requirements.

• Respond to technical queries and prepare RFIs during project execution.

• Provide engineering and technical support to site and installation teams.

• Ensure compliance with applicable local authority requirements, project specifications, codes, and international standards.

• Identify and resolve design and technical issues related to roofing and cladding systems.

• Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders when required.

• Coordinate design changes and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.

• Maintain proper documentation and revision control for engineering and design deliverables.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in standing seam roofing and metal cladding systems.

• Strong practical and technical knowledge of standing seam roofing systems, components, detailing, and installation requirements.

• Proven experience in preparing shop drawings and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.

• Experience with Revit and Tekla is an advantage.

• Knowledge of engineering calculations, material specifications, MTO/BOQ preparation, and technical submittals.

• Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, production, and site teams.

• Knowledge of relevant international standards, project specifications, and UAE/local authority requirements is preferred.

• Strong AutoCAD skills.

• Good understanding of roofing and metal cladding design and detailing.

• Strong technical drawing and documentation skills.

• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and IFC drawings.

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong coordination and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Candidates with hands-on experience in standing seam roofing system design, metal roofing, cladding, fabrication drawings, and project engineering will be preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or contracting environment will be an added advantage.
