Staff Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and work on the design, development, implementation, and support of customers facing APIs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software applications, a proven ability to identify and resolve complex system issues, and experience working within a complex architectural ecosystem.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software systems using technologies such as Python, Ruby on Rails, Angular, and JavaScript.
- Architect and implement robust APIs, web services, and backend systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, other engineering teams, partners on B2B integrations to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in requirements gathering, technical specification, design, and development of software for customer-facing applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the full software stack.
- Ensure best practices in software development, including continuous integration, testing, and code quality.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of experience delivering commercial cloud-based software applications
- Experience as a technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle
- Experience in Java or Python, (Ruby on Rails nice to have) with a proven track record of building large-scale applications nice to have
- Expertise in technologies such as Angular, Node.js, Django, JavaScript for building dynamic, responsive front-end applications.
- Extensive experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB
- Expert knowledge of REST API development
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices including Microservices, CI/CD, and container-based technologies.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to write clean maintainable code
- Working knowledge of Git and familiarity with the Github workflow
Nice to have:
- Experience in cloud-based development using AWS including Lambda applications
- Experience with Message Queuing frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
- Have familiarity with MES or LIMS systems
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
