As our Staff iOS Engineer, you'll lead the technical direction of the iOS app. You'll evolve its architecture toward modern Swift, build the testing and release foundations, and own complex features from design to the App Store. The visibility of the work is immense. We have plenty of tough challenges which require creative minds like yours to help us solve!
Your Daily Adventures Will Include
- Partnering with mobile product managers, designers and team to deeply understand the needs of sellers on the go and build a product that serves those needs
- Setting technical direction for the iOS app and evolving a large UIKit codebase toward SwiftUI, the Observation framework and Swift Concurrency, one feature area at a time, toward an agreed north star
- Owning complex features end to end, such as voice calling with Twilio Voice, CallKit and PushKit, real-time SMS, push notifications, and recording and playback
- Leading our GraphQL client work on Apollo iOS 2.x: async APIs, a deliberate caching strategy, and a reproducible codegen workflow
- Building the iOS delivery foundations, including automated code signing, unit and UI test gates in CI, and TestFlight and App Store release automation
- Making sure the app is observable and issues are easy to diagnose, through symbolicated crash reports, structured logging and release-health dashboards
- Raising the bar on accessibility (VoiceOver, Dynamic Type), localization and privacy across the app
- Finding quick ways to prototype and test possible solutions to large problems
- Owning relationships with other engineering teams, such as Voice, Identity and Android, and collaborating with other functions within Outreach
