This position makes an impact with Java, C# and SQL software development and support of our manufacturing and customer software on a global agile software team. You’ll be growing your technical skills while engaging with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, process engineers, IT cloud and infrastructure administrators, reporting and data analytics specialists, and other business stakeholders to help define new software requirements.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Support the DNA BeadChip software portfolio through all aspects of the Illumina Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Works with internal business and development teams to develop new software features and enhancements.
• Harden software for infosec vulnerabilities, and keep up with the latest Microsoft or Java technology updates.
• Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data require a review of a variety of factors.
• Supports day-to-day operations by providing technical guidance, pulling reports, and other tasks requiring cross-functional collaboration. 
• Investigate and resolve technical problems with internal customers.
• Provides high priority after hours production support, as necessary.

Position Requirements: 

• Aptitude for helping and collaborating with end-users and stakeholders.
• Possess proven troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Java or C#.
• Experience with SQL and RDBMS.
• Experience with Python, R, or other programming very valued.
• Experience with client-side MVC Frameworks (i.e. Angular) helpful.
• Experience with Rancher and Kubernetes helpful.
• Has used source control, build and CI/CD practices and tools (i.e. GIT, Maven and TeamCity).
• Prioritizes own work effectively.
• Have proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly.
• Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks.
• Experience in Application Management Service (AMS) is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing/life sciences/biotechnology industry is a plus.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills: 

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
