The Role

Focus on building next-generation software solutions and implementing large-scale feature stores that maximize performance and reliability for use cases. Design, engineer & implement robust, real-time data pipelines. Implement new features and streamline existing services. Take ownership and work with various product management, development, and quality assurance groups in a fast-paced environment. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to build partnerships with cross-functional teams with clear ways of working, including software engineering, data science, product managers, and business. Focus on code readability, performance, testing, documentation, and continuous integration. Become familiar with core development, product release, and business. Minimize complexity in projects and enhance shared understanding among team members. Domestic and international travel required up to 10% of the time. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to 611 Anton Blvd, Suite 550, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or any position/occupation/job title involving building software solutions and data processing pipelines and infrastructure.  In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field., plus 5 years of professional experience as Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or any position/occupation/job title involving building software solutions and data processing pipelines and infrastructure. 

Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience building and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems and building backend architectures; 5 years of professional experience performing database design, optimization, and management to support large-scale applications; 5 years of professional experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (including HBase, Cassandra, or MongoDB) and message queuing (MQ) technologies; 5 years of professional experience collaborating with cross-functional teams; 5 years of professional experience utilizing Scala, Java, or Python and Apache Spark or Kafka; 5 years of professional experience utilizing orchestration tools (including Airflow, AgroCD, or Kubernetes) and object-oriented design and design patterns.

Liftoff's Compensation Strategy

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
