The RoleAs a Staff Server Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building the backend infrastructure for the bitcoin products e-commerce platform, powering the sale of our bitcoin hardware wallet, Bitkey, as well as our mining hardware. Working closely with product and logistics teams, you'll deliver a fast, secure, and scalable e-commerce experience.
You Will
- Architect and implement robust server-side solutions for the e-commerce platform, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Design, build, and maintain APIs that support both traditional e-commerce sales as well as sales-driven workflows.
- Collaborate with front-end engineers using TypeScript, React, and Next.js to ensure seamless API integration.
- Ensure security best practices are in place, particularly for handling sensitive financial and customer data.
- Take ownership of build automation and deployment pipelines, ensuring reliable, scalable, and efficient deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot and optimize server-side code, database interactions, and third-party integrations for performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
You Have
- 8+ years of experience as a back-end or full-stack engineer, with a focus on building and scaling web applications.
- Strong experience with server-side languages like Node.js, Python, or Go, and proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing build automation and managing deployment pipelines for web applications.
- Expertise in designing and implementing APIs for both e-commerce and workflow-driven applications.
- Strong understanding of database technologies and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as TypeScript, React, and Next.js to support seamless API integration.
Nice to Have
- Experience with blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency.
- Experience with localization of carts, payments, etc
- Experience with risk, compliance, IAM, or product security
