Staff Revenue Accountant
INTRODUCTION:
This position is responsible for the overall preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for monthly general ledger close; including assisting with banking activities, compliance with tax and internal controls, and overseeing the quality, quantity and progress of the month end close as it relates to financial statement preparation. This position will prepare and present account reconciliations for the responsible area
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Ensure all supporting documentation and backup for entries or accounting decisions is maintained for compliance or internal control requirements
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts as assigned
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling, and resolving discrepancies
- Work cross-functionally to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records for accounts assigned including creating and maintaining schedules and booking activity
- Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and yearly re-class, adjusting, recurring, and accrual entries
- Reconcile end-of-month bank statements as assigned
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
- Assist with the annual external audits, completing requested materials and preparing schedules as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or CFO
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- B.S. or B.A. in Accounting
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting, including General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to make sound decisions and take calculated risks
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure with time deadlines
- Ability to solve problems using deductive reasoning skills in a timely manner
AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE:
- Workday ERP experience
- Experience in a multi-entity, global environment doing business in multiple currencies
- Experience with payment processing and/or software-as-a-service industries
- CPA certification
