About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Staff Manual Quality Engineer to lead and execute high-quality testing processes for complex applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manual testing, analytical skills, and leadership ability to mentor junior QA engineers while ensuring product quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead QA efforts for projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Analyze business requirements and create test strategies, plans, and cases.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and Performance testing.
  • Identify, document, and use defect tracking software. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Development, Product, DevOps).
  • Conduct risk analysis and recommend quality improvements.
  • Drive QA process improvements and best practices.
  • Participate in release planning and provide quality sign-off.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach junior QA engineers.
  • Conduct peer reviews of test cases and reports.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex testing issues.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and team skill development.
  • Collaborate with management to define QA strategies and approach.
  • Ensure adherence to QA processes and standards.
  • Represent QA in stakeholder meetings and communicate quality metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA team.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Playwright.
  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or similar languages.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM).
  • Expertise in API testing (Postman, REST Assured).
  • Knowledge of SQL for database testing.
  • Familiarity with TDD, unit testing, QA lifecycle processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work proactively in a Scrum/Agile environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in manual testing of complex applications.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, QA methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience with bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
