Staff Product Manager, Storage & Edge Data

Fastly is looking for a Staff Product Manager to own our Storage and Edge Data product lines, spanning Fastly Object Storage and our suite of edge data products (including KV Store, Config Store, and Secret Store). Whether you're just starting your product management career or have years of experience driving product strategies, we want to hear from you.

As Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving customer requirements, synthesizing product roadmaps, and delivering capabilities that let customers store, manage, and access data as close to their end users as possible. This role will have a significant impact on Fastly's strategic initiatives, customer satisfaction, and revenue goals.

What You'll Do:

  • Define the strategy and roadmap for Fastly Object Storage and our edge data products, partnering with stakeholders across the organization to deliver these products for customers
  • Collaborate on a cross-functional roadmap for Fastly's key product capabilities, working with other product and engineering teams to ensure platform-wide consistency and success between storage and edge data offerings
  • Gather data through research and direct conversations to understand customer use cases and goals across a broad spectrum of industry segments, translating and synthesizing those into crisp product requirements
  • Define and monitor product success metrics using data-driven goals across both storage and edge data products
  • Evaluate vendor and infrastructure tradeoffs that underpin our storage and data offerings, balancing performance, cost, and reliability
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Marketing to drive product growth via cross-functional training and coordinated campaigns
  • Collaboratively lead cross-functional and distributed teams by building trusted working relationships throughout the company, at all levels of the organization

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for great thought leaders that have both an entrepreneurial ethos and a bias for action. In particular, the ability to break complex problems into simple, solvable steps, all while remaining focused on the larger product vision, and a passion for learning, building, contributing, and growing with the Product team and the company.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of product management experience
  • Product management experience, preferably with SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS products
  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems, cloud storage, data infrastructure, networking, or security
  • Familiarity with object storage, S3-compatible APIs, or key-value/data store technologies
  • Ability to think tactically and strategically to craft a compelling product roadmap that delivers customer and business value while making smart tradeoffs
  • Strong ability to motivate and inspire people to do their best work and a collaborative spirit to support other leaders with curiosity and enthusiasm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We'll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

  • Understanding of building cloud services and applications in an enterprise environment
  • History with real-time protocols or low-latency storage solutions
  • Experience with data migration tooling, storage vendor management, or vendor negotiation
  • Passion for driving adoption through product analytics with experience
