The Staff Product Manager, Automation Partnerships is responsible for driving Illumina’s automation ecosystem partnership program to enable and accelerate the expansion of Illumina library preparation products. The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of automated NGS workflows, project management experience and will have experience in customer facing service and support roles.
Responsibilities

Responsible for initiating, leading, and implementing collaborative projects with automation partners and customers to develop, test, and launch automated library preparation solutions.

Lead automation partnership workstream: maintain close relationships with key partners and develop high-value end-to-end solutions for Illumina library preparation products.

Actively collaborate and manage relationships with partners – able to engage at all levels of the organization, e.g., Product Managers, Business Development, Field Support Organization and R&D.

Work in tandem with regional marketing, product management, and the customer support organization to commercialize the automated solutions.

Develop technical marketing collateral to support automation library preparation launches.

Work across the organization and directly with customers and commercial to bring the voice of customer and voice of field into the overall strategic marketing plans.

Understand key business drivers, based on data and analytics, market trends, and direct interaction with Commercial teams and customers.

Partner with Commercial Organization and Regional Marketing to support them in interactions with existing and new customers.

Build close relationships with key partners, thought leaders, partners, and industry influencers to stay abreast of emerging market trends.

Up to 10% travel may be required.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or PhD a plus.

Must have at least 5+ years of industry experience in Product Marketing or other customer-facing roles. Automation experience required.

Must have technical knowledge in NGS workflows, including library preparation, extraction technologies, and automation instrumentation.

Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings.

Must have demonstrated project management skills.
The estimated base salary range for the Staff Product Manager, Automation role based in the United States of America is: $126,800 - $190,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
