As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will be managing and supporting the Linux infrastructure and the web technologies and constantly improving the platform with the shift left approach where every developer/engineer is made self-sufficient with the platform solutions build to speed up their deliverables with advanced tools and solutions

Your role in the Team
We work with a lot of high-profile technologies and manage thousands of servers. We have a say in what we use, and how we use it. Your ideas might be implemented for everyone else to use on a daily basis. There's a lot to learn, but you'll be able to use that knowledge in real world circumstances
What you’ll do
Join the Platform team as an Staff Platform Engineer! Become the one that defines, documents and implements the platform and web stack which supports all the application layer.

Lead complex technical projects, provide architectural guidance, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

Create documentation, templates and presentations for operational use, management and stakeholders.

Improve user experience and reduce dependency on platforms with self service tools to manage the platform

Tackle complex architectural challenges in the the Linux Infrastructure and web technologies and define standards

Delivering end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management

Design and implement continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) for technology platforms and hosted applications.

Work to improve the reliability and performance of the next generation of distributed systems and containerized deployments

Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems handling millions of queries per second

Own implementations of new technologies while ensuring proper testing and documentation.

Continuously improve the team, tools and processes, support regular agile releases of applications and architectural improvements.

Availability to be in on-call rotation for Production issues when required.

What you’ll need for this role
Must Have Skills
-
10+ years of experience managing the Linux Infrastructure and web technologies
-
Managed an estate of 1000+ hosts and performed general system administration, networking, backup and restore, monitoring and troubleshooting functions on that estate.

8 Years of experience with scripting languages (bash/Python/Go) and automating tasks with Puppet/Ansible and Redhat Satellite. Experience with custom RPM generation.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. You will have resolved complex systems issues in your last role and have a solid understanding of the tools needed to do so.

Excellent Communication (Listening, speaking, transmission of concepts with/without examples, etc).
-
Calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. You would have brought critical production systems back to life.

5 years in Network administration

Experience with monitoring tools and build observability platforms
Nice To Have Skills
Good knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or CentOS)
Bash and one other scripting language (preferably Python or Go)
Experience with server build and management tools, such as Puppet, Ansible
Experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Nexus, etc.
Experience with public cloud (AWS EKS or GCP)
Experience supporting enterprise architectures and multi-tiered applications, web architectures and websites.
