We are seeking an experienced engineer to join Identity Services as a Staff Platform Engineer. You will set the technical direction for our platform ecosystem and guide a team delivering reliable, secure, and cost-effective end-user computing solutions.Deep CI/CD and pipeline expertise is central to the role, alongside strong design judgement, a focus on automation and operational excellence, and the ability to lift the engineers around you. A working understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra will set you up for success.
This is a full-time position. Flexible working conditions and hybrid working environments are available.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Shape the roadmap and strategy for your team's products and services, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on in the codebase.
Engineering Standards: Champion engineering principles, design patterns, and delivery quality across the domain.
Pipelines and Automation: Design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation that make secure, repeatable delivery the default.
AI-Enabled Delivery: Apply AI tooling thoughtfully across coding, testing, and support, and help others adopt it well.
Delivery and Architecture: Build platform services and support tools that deliver measurable business value, and lead the transition to target architectures.
Innovation and Enablement: Identify emerging technologies aligned to the Group's strategic direction, and promote knowledge sharing, documentation, and reusability.
Technical Skills
Deep, hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling (e.g. GitHub, GitHub Actions), with secure delivery practices built in.
Full lifecycle platform engineering — design, build, run — with a strong grasp of testing and operational readiness.
Strong scripting or development experience (PowerShell, .NET, Bash, Python).
Working knowledge of identity services, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra.
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible), AWS services, containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus).

Skills Required
