•Design, implement, and operate high-availability backbone networks across data centers and cloud
platforms
• Lead architecture for private cloud, hybrid cloud, and public cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP as
applicable)
• Own L3/L2 routing design including BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN
• Drive network scalability, resiliency, performance, and security best practices
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across backbone, data center, and cloud environments
• Define and enforce network standards, design patterns, and operational runbooks
• Lead and contribute to network automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar
• Partner with cloud, platform, security, and infrastructure teams on end-to-end solutions
• Review designs, provide technical guidance, and mentor senior and mid-level engineers
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response for major outages
Technical Skills
• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with strong backbone or large-scale infrastructure
exposure
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN
• Hands-on experience with data center and backbone routing/switching platforms (Cisco, Juniper,
Arista, etc.)
• Strong experience with cloud networking:
o VPC/VNet design, routing, peering, transit gateways
o VPN, Direct Connect / ExpressRoute / Interconnect
• Solid understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, ACLs, segmentation, DDoS protection)
• Experience with network automation and IaC (Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across physical, virtual, and cloud networks
