1. Raise the Technical and Operational Bar
- Design and implement next-generation LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN architectures across all Gap Inc. distribution and campus environments.
- Lead modernization initiatives to increase network uptime and performance by measurable KPIs (e.g., MTTR reduction, latency improvement).
- Partner with Cloud and Security teams to integrate hybrid and multi-cloud networking (Azure, OCI).
2. Drive Automation and Efficiency
- Champion network automation and orchestration using Python, Ansible, or equivalent frameworks to eliminate manual configuration drift.
- Define and deliver self-service and zero-touch provisioning models across network domains.
- Establish repeatable processes and monitoring systems that deliver predictable, auditable network operations.
3. Deliver Resilient, Scalable Connectivity
- Engineer highly available, fault-tolerant connectivity for Gap’s distribution centers and corporate campuses.
- Implement observability and proactive incident detection through modern telemetry tools (Mist AI, Juniper HealthBot, Prometheus).
- Lead continuous improvement and root cause elimination programs tied to quantifiable reliability metrics.
4. Partner, Lead, and Influence
- Collaborate with internal Infrastructure leadership and managed service providers to co-own delivery outcomes and service-level excellence.
- Provide technical mentorship and knowledge uplift for junior engineers and peers through documentation, workshops, and post-incident reviews.
- Model high-impact behaviors — ownership, curiosity, accountability, and bias for action — in every engagement.
5. Enable Innovation and Continuous Growth
- Evaluate and integrate emerging network technologies — from AIOps and intent-based networking to cloud-native network services.
- Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and modernization roadmaps aligned with Infrastructure transformation objectives.
- Build and maintain detailed network documentation and lifecycle management standards aligned with compliance and change control.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise networks.
- Expertise in LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, routing, switching, and network segmentation.
- Hands-on proficiency with Juniper, Mist, Arista, Meraki, Infoblox, and F5 platforms.
- Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, load balancing, and DNS/DHCP/IPAM.
- Demonstrated success with network automation (Python, Ansible) and observability systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate across infrastructure, operations, and service delivery teams.
- Certifications: JNCIS, CCNP, or equivalent vendor credentials.
- Experience with cloud network architecture (Azure, OCI).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, change management, and compliance frameworks (PCI, SOX).
- Exposure to compute, virtualization, and storage ecosystems.
