About this PositionAs a Staff Financial Reporting Accountant, you'll have the opportunity to expand your technical reporting knowledge by performing advanced insurance accounting functions. Essential Job Functions:
As a Staff Reporting Accountant, you can expect to:
- Complete journal entries by reviewing for reasonableness, comparing to source documentation, and providing referenced backup.
- Complete trial balance analysis, reconciliations, and explain material variances and discrepancies to management
- Help prepare financial statements and regulatory filings on a statutory basis.
- Write reports that contain financial data to assist management in monitoring fiscal activity.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of enterprise financial systems and analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel.
- Input data into financial systems to create and maintain complete and accurate financial records.
- Participate in department projects and contributes to ongoing process improvement initiatives
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 2 years experience
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and theories and the ability to apply such knowledge in practical applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Progress towards CPA and/or MBA.
- Insurance industry experience, even better if that experience is in the Workers' Compensation industry!
- Experience using Workday Financials.
The base pay range is based on the market evaluation of the job and may include pay for multiple levels. Individual base pay within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including experience, performance, education, and demonstration of skills and competencies required for each role. Base Pay Range: $75,120.45 - $92,795.85 Per YearFlex-Hybrid Work Environment:Texas Mutual’s flex-hybrid schedule allows you to bring your best self to work by working remotely and collaborating in the office based on business needs. All Texas Mutual employees are required to have Texas residency and travel to their designated office as needed.
